New Jersey City University Signed the Agreement on Credit Transfer Project with BCU

On July 7th, the delegation of eight from New Jersey City University (NJCU), including President Dr. Sue Hendersonand and Senior Vice President Dr. Daniel J. Julius, participated the Signing Ceremony of NJCU - BCU Credit Transfer Project on North Campus of BCU. Vice-President of BCU Professor Hu Liqin, President Assistant Ms Ye Yingfang, Head of School of Foreign Studies Professor Li Jiayi, Deputy Head Ms Zhang Xinyuan, Supervisor of International Affairs Office and relevant academic staff gave the delegation a warm reception.

At the beginning, Professor Hu on behalf of university warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the characteristics of BCU. She has confidence in and high expectations for the cooperative project. Dr. Sue Henderson gave an overview of NJCU and believed that the two universities share the ideas about ‘student-oriented’ and ‘serving the development of city’. Then the universities signed the Agreement on Credit Transfer Project.

After the ceremony, the delegation met with students from Finance Major of School of Foreign Studies. Senior Vice President Dr. Daniel J. Julius welcomed and encouraged students who would study at NJCU. The student representative expressed the gratitude towards the universities for giving an excellent opportunity for international exchange.

According to the Agreement, students from Finance (International Exchange - English) of BCU have the choice of studying at NJCU for the first semester in the third year. In 2016, there were 16 students studying at NJCU; in 2017, ten students are going to NJCU in September to study for a semester.

The purpose of this cooperative project is to provide an opportunity for students from Finance Major of the School of Foreign Studies to study overseas. Based on the Project, students from Finance Major (NJCU Class) study at BCU in the first three years and at NJCU in the fourth year (three semesters). The fundamental and professional courses are designed by BCU and NJCU. When students obtain the required credits, they will get bachelor’s degrees from BCU and NJCU. When they meet the language requirement of NJCU, they can choose to study at NJCU for master’s degree.
